Written, Directed and Produced by Roydon Turner

South African by birth, Roydon now calls the UK his home. He studied at the School of Art and Design, Natal, South Africa and worked for global advertising agencies for over 20 years as Art Director and Creative Director, creating award winning work across a wide range of brands and services. In 2015 he co-founded Donroy Entertainment with writer Don Macnab-Stark and executive producers Mark Calvert and Joanne Billington. Roydon has directed short and documentary films, and his first feature film, ‘Stones’, based on the true life experiences of singer/songwriter Alexander McKay, won the 2016 London Independent Film Festival Best Feature Award and has headlined at a number of festivals in the UK and South Africa. Roydon is a Trustee for the charity Live Life Give Life and the creator and Director for the awareness charity The Orgamites. 

Screenwriter and Producer Don Macnab-Stark, BSc, MA, MA

Born in England, Don has traveled widely, living in California, Alabama, North Carolina, Wales, and Salamanca, Spain. After a varied career in executive management, Don became a screenwriter, script doctor and consultant. Don has written and consulted on dozens of feature scripts, many of which have been optioned or produced, and taught Screenwriting at South Essex College. He also wrote the best-selling graphic novel, “Treadwater”. In 2011 Don partnered with Roydon Turner to create Donroy Films. Their first feature film, Stones, recently won Best Feature Film at the London Independent Film Festival.

Post-production on IRIS WARRIORS is nearing its end, due for completion summer 2017. A British film shot in South Africa, written and directed by Roydon Turner (Stones), with a screenplay by Don Macnab-Stark (Stones; Long, Cold Winter; Act Like You Love Me). Iris Warriors is produced by Roydon Turner, Don Macnab-Stark and Red Petal Productions’ Toni Marais (The Story of an African Farm; Wah-Wah), executive produced by Mark Calvert, Joanne Billington, double BAFTA winner Julie Baines (Triangle; Creep; The Cat’s Meow) and Jonathan Taylor (The Riot Club; The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel). The cast is led by Jessica Brown Findlay (Downton Abbey; Winter’s Tale; The Riot Club), and principal dancers from South Africa’s leading dance schools.
